IPL (Intense Pulsed light) – We offer two types of laser, Chromolight and N-Lite.

What can Chromolight do for me?
Chromolight offer non-invasive, safe and effective hair removal for all skin types and most hair colours including blonde. Chromolight also offers non-invasive safe and effective skin rejuvenation for most skin types.
How does Chromolight work?
The smartlite technology emits a dual band of yellow and red light which is particularly effective for hair removal. With hair removal, the red light targets the melanin within the hair shaft causing the follicle temperature to rise and the consequent destruction of the follicle. Whist the yellow light destroys the blood supply to the germ cells preventing any possibility of re-growth.
How many treatments and required?
For hair removal the number of treatments required varies, depending on the density and location of the hair growth. Approximately 30% of the body hair is in a growing stage at any time. The remainder is dormant and unable to absorb light. Chromolight will destroy between 60% and 90% of the growing hair at each treatment. However, extremely coarse, dense hair for instance, a man's beard may take longer.
Anything else I should be aware of?
Some people are more sensitive to light than others, so please help your operation by being completely honest when filling in the assessment form. Test patching is required to check suitability for treatment and will not be necessarily reflect the result after completion of the treatment.
What can N-lite do for me?
If you suffer from acne, N-lite has been clinically proven to effectively treat the inflammation and spots, as well as reducing pits and scars noticeably improve your skin. If unsightly wrinkles like crows feet cause distress, N-lite can smooth them out, visibly reducing their appearance giving younger looking skin. If you have certain kinds of vascular lesions such as port-wine stains, spider veins or rosacea etc. N-line can treat them effectively.
How does N-lite work?
Against acne the SmartPulse laser light kills and reduces the bacteria that cause the infection and it stimulates the natural mechanism repair of the skin. With acne scars and wrinkles the light penetrating into the blood vessels stimulates your body's natural healing response to build collagen from beneath so gradually pushing the wrinkles out. To treat vascular lesions a higher energy beam is used which destroys the problem blood vessels that cause the blemishes whist leaving healthy skin unharmed.
How many treatments are required?
Acne has been shown to significantly improve 2 to 4 weeks following a single session. Patients will usually receive 3 treatments 3 to 4 weeks apart. Wrinkle reduction works most effectively with 3 treatments 2 weeks apart. combination treatments such as microdernabrasion exfoliate the outer layer of skin, complimenting and enhancing the N-lite treatments. Results are seen after 1-3 months. Vascular lesions depending on their type and severity are selectively destroyed. Spiders veins can take as little as 1 treatment, whilst other types may need several treatments.
How long do the benefits last?
Acne clearance has been shown to last over 9 months. Maintenance treatments may be required thereafter. Further treatments to maintain wrinkle reduction are required only when you consider necessary with results typically lasting 12 months.
